With over 20 years of experience, Gasco is known as one of the best in the world in this field. USES OF WELDED FINNED TUBES

HIGH FREQUENCY WELDED FINNED TUBE

GME supplies the highest quality welded finned tubing to any part of the world for use in oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power generating stations, fertilizer and gas production plants. the newly designed manufacturing facility, with our high frequency resistance welding machines, enables us to perform large scale projects in reduced times.

The steel fin (solid or serrated) is helically wound and continuously welded to the tube by high frequency electric resistance welding. this produces a homogeneous, clean and continuous fin-to tube bond with no additional weld material, for a very efficient heat flow and resistance to corrosion.

the welding process enables the combination of any grades for studs and tube: carbon, alloy, stainless steels and high nickel alloys. alloy steel pipes are stress-relieved after studding, according to the relevant specifications for the class and grade of steel used.

USES OF STUDDED PIPE

STUDDED PIPE

the steel studs are automatically resistance welded to the tube, producing high quality forge welds. our automatic studding machines are capable of handling tube diameters from 1” to 8” o/d and standard stud diameter of 12.7mm.

the welding process enables the combination of any grades for studs and tube: carbon, alloy, stainless steels and high nickel alloys. alloy steel pipes are stress-relieved after studding, according to the relevant specifications for the class and grade of steel used.

FINNED TUBES

Fin tubes are used wherever electric power is generated or raw materials are refined and where efficient cooling is required. Fin tubes are needed in a constantly increasing quantity for the production of heat exchangers, condensers, coolers and furnaces. The great increase of the thermal efficiency when applying fin tubes allows a substantial reduction in site and costs of such cooling equipment. the surface of such tubes is substantially increased and consequently less tubes are required compared with exchangers with plain tubes.

‘L’ FIN

the strip material is subjected to controlled deformation under tension giving the optimum contact pressure of the foot of the fin onto the base tube thus maximising the heat transfer properties. The foot of the fin considerably enhances the corrosion protection of the base tube. Maximum operating temperature for this fin type is 150°C.
Fin material : aluminium or copper.
Tube materials : No theoretical limits.

‘G’ FIN

(Embedded Fin)The fin strip is wound into a machined groove and securely locked into place by back filling with base tube material. This ensures that maximum heat transfer is maintained at high tube metal temperatures. Maximum operating temperature for this fin type is 450°C.
Fin material : aluminium or copper.
Tube materials : carbon steel, cr-Mo steel, stainless steel, copper, copper alloys,

‘KL’ FIN

Manufactured exactly as the ‘L’ fin except that the base tube is knurled before application of the fin foot. After application the fin foot is knurled into the corresponding knurling on the base tube thereby enhancing the bond between the fin and tube resulting in improved heat transfer characteristics. Maximum operating temperature for this fin type is 260°C.
Fin material : aluminium or copper.
Tube materials : No theoretical limits.
